Tulsimala rice (also spelled Tulshimala) is a traditional, premium quality aromatic rice variety indigenously grown in the Sherpur district of the Mymensingh division in Bangladesh. Recognized officially as a Geographical Indication (GI) product of Bangladesh, it is celebrated for its distinctive sweet aroma, small and slightly fat grain shape, and excellent culinary flexibility. Because of its high status and historical prestige, locals affectionately refer to it as "Jamai Aduri Chal" (husband-adoring rice), traditionally prepared to welcome honored guests and sons-in-law.
